hi everybody.

on june 1st, we have sent out the confirmations for extra places. so far, we haven’t got any reply except from uk.

i ask you to confirm the extra places we have confirmed as soon as possible! if you don’t need them, we want to give them to others. we were forced to disappoint 35 people so far, and for countries that need invitations, it is soon too late to confirm anything.

all lost countries can apply until the end of the week, all extra places can be confirmed until the end of the week. afterwards, we’re going to give these places away to countries that are waiting!

furthermore, ireland (sean) has asked for 2 extra places, but from the 5 places in the quota, we have only got 2 application forms so far.

latin america (carlos) has announced some participants, but we have no news for more than a month. please, contact us, otherwise you lose the places!

music men and women try to get everyone to come to protest at the G8 meeting (the gathering of the 8 leaders of the worlds richest 8 nations) in scotland to help erradicate world poverty

surely this is a massive logistical task, Scottish homes are being opened up, mosques, churches, community halls are all opening up to offer sleeping space for those coming to G8 protests
we will be going over to scotland with DISSENT, are there any of you invovled with the summers mobilisations, will any of you go to the free concerts, is this use of commercial popstars to try to raise awareness making any difference?

after i had stupidly deleted the danish website we had uploaded as a documentation of great easa history :-), bo jörgensen, designer of the beautiful page, has uploaded it again.

has anybody a working email address or even phone number from the bulgarian NC: Anton Mateev Matev. he is not answering on his email that is in the contacts. but it seams we have some participants out there.

please help. or we will loose bulgaria as a participating country on easa.

after the hustle about the heating building, i’d like to have you ppl to tell me – and us – about your favourite architcture picture (be it a photo or not – i do not really care) – and if u can – maybe post her? [not to forget to mention where u took it and put the “authors” name and so son – mind the copyrights … think marko can tell us about that hu? ]. So i dont actually ask for nice pics of great ark – but simply visually great pics of what u consider being architecture. :D

This is a cri de coeur!

Some members of Belarus team (about 4, including me and our new NC, Yura) really require an invitation of any shengenian country. I ask any of Shengenian countries NCs to help us.

The fact of the matter is that we are hitch-hikers of principle and perforce, and we need shengenian visa to visit EASA. But we live in the “last dictatorship of Europe”. Therefore we need official invitation to obtain it. We’ll refund all the costs after arriving to the EASA.

I suppose, itsn’t a big trouble to make an invitation using your school or sothing else.

The most tolerant shengenian embassy in Belarus is the French one – that’s why I’m especially applying this post to French NC (Jerome, R U still there?).

Sorry for mistakes and indiscretion, I’m just very sllepy now:)

unfortunately we have to announce that 6 countries seem to be lost.

Azerbaijan
Estonia (Ruta from Lithuania is trying to contact them)
Iceland
Moldavia
Slovakia
Bulgaria

If there is anyone that has a contact to one of this countries please invite those to participate at the EASA community in switzerland. We will try as well to get hold of some people.
For Albania Genc is trying to get contact. And for Poland we are still waiting for the applications.

btw. we wait for your applications for extra-places.

interesting for everybody: there are cheap night trains to switzerland from several destinations. starting from…
> amsterdam – utrecht – düsseldorf
> dortmund – essen
> hamburg – bremen – münster
> berlin – hannover – frankfurt
> dresden – leipzig – weimar
> vienna – salzburg
you can use city night line that offers seats from 29.– euros (independent from starting point), beds for 45.– euros, online booking possible. check out www.citynightline.ch!!!

for south east destinations, the national railways have found a similar way of collaboration, so trains from budapest, zagreb, and i think ljubljana too (is it all the same price?) offer places for the same price. no online booking though.

there is a limited number of seats per train for this price, so early booking is necessary. go and ask for it at your railway station. the offer is called “SparNight” in german (“SavingNight”), no idea about other languages… arriving in zurich by train, it is just 5 minutes walking distance from the station to the domicile where we spend our first night.

something else to celebrate: the winners of our competition are online. the jury has decided on april 28th, and now the jury report is approved and downloadable. check out the website!

the jury has awarded three projects. congratulations to our winners!!!



1st prize: zsofia berenyi and agnes deigner, hungary. their pavilion is going to be built during easa.

two second prizes: marijela pajic, gorana stjepanovic, and sinisa marjanovic from bosnia & herzegovina, as well as lovisia ohlsson and anna klara lundberg from
sweden.

all the members of the awarded teams are invited to come to easa for without participation fee. thank you all very much! 68 projects have been handed in, and the jury had great pleasure in judging them. thanks to our jury members…

another all nighter, 5 of us left in studio, its nearly 7am, the seagulls are making their presence known in the silent city.
trying to print the 12 a1`s, which have to be pinned up on tuesday- this is the end. the culmination of all that study
nearly everyone is having problems with printers, time, staying alert, keeping sane.
why do we do this to ourselves?, wouldnt it be far better if we were organised.
besides being unable to print i cant even get into paperspace to finish laying out pages
the joy of it all
just thought id pass this on to the rest of you, im sure many of you are in similar pressure situations.
