Architecture: The Greatest Disasters

I would like to start a thread to see some off the results when architecture GOES BAD!

A couple of months ago, some sort of mutant, hideous building appeared from behind its green shroud in Dublin City centre. The city architects heralded it as a ‘landmark’ development. It is sited beside one of Dublin’s most important building. But not only is this building absolutly disastrous, the ‘public plaza’ created beside it is worse. how can such a high profile firm like MBM arquitectes get it so wrong? Are the architects to fault for a system that allows input from politicians and planners that (in Ireland anyway) really dont have a fucking clue what good architecture is.

The actual building ‘alot bigger’ than it should be

Dont you just love those stainless steel nub detail.
Skateboarding is not a crime, integrate it into the fucking design, and dont stick these nubs on as an afterthought

I wish I could cut in it half like Matta-Clark
