Duncan organized a group to go on a green walk around Dublin that culminated in Grafton st where we gave out free organic lettuce. We wore posters that promoted sustainable living and overalls. We got a positive response. The event brought awareness and fun to Dublin and was great outlet to express our enthusiasm and energy about working for a greener Dublin.

I’ll send you photos Duncan. I don’t have the net at home so I’ll save them and bring them in. My assesments are comming up It could be after.

This is an amaising event showing how entustiastic people can influence public oppinion and make positive things happen ,Banjaluka has it`s potentials, and we are trying to use them and make Banjaluka example of an Eco City, wisit our exibition on April the 18.th and see if we have been sucessfull

eco city banja luka


”eco city project – banja luka” could and indeed should become the most exciting global architectural project, an example of a new direction in a new age. if it gathers sufficient momentum, it will happen. its up to us to make that momentum


the worlds population is moving into the urban, sustainable city living is the problem we as designers must create the solutions for. This project is attempting to face this challenge.

Personally I think today’s architectural vision is lost, this is exactly the thing architecture and indeed the world needs.
Placing it in the Balkans is the most appropriate position for it due to recent wars.

ecotopia happened in Ireland last summer, hopefully it will happen in banja luka sometime soon, sustainable living can happen out in the woods but we have to make it happen in our urban world

Eko grad banjaluka

Projekat Banjaluka Eko Grad mogao bi i uistinu bi trebao postati najinteresantniji arhitektonski projekat globalno, primjer novog pravca u novom dobu. Ukoliko dobije odgovarajuæi znaèaj, to æe se i dogoditi, na nama je da to omoguæimo.

Svjetska populacija migrira ka gradovima, problem održivog razvoja i života grada je problem za koje mi planeri moramo naæi rješenje. Ovaj projekat je jedan od naèina da se suoèimo sa ovim izazovom.

Danas kada je arhitektonska vizija nedovoljno jasna , to je ono što arhitektura i svijet zaista trebaju. Realizacija ove ideje na Balkanu možda je pravi izbor, s obzirom na protekli rat.

Ekotopija je projekat koji je realizovan u Irskoj prošlo ljeto, a koji je pokazao kako princip održivog razvoja funkcioniše u prirodi, i kako princip iznaæi i u urbanoj sredini.

Introduction:
First of all I want to express my feelings of unhappiness concerning this disgracing situation. This situation makes me feel like I ended up in some childish fight, as if we are in early stages of puberty. Although I have been trying to solve this issue with Marko in a personal way, there has not been any response from him, neither has he undertaken actions to undo the political statements he is making according to his own personal opinion, not supported by any democratic EASA decision. With Marko’s mass mailings this issue seems to be turning into an embarrassing “public fight”. With this EASA is being harmed as well as the issue seems to be(come) a personal matter. I therefore want to ask Marko again to take his responsibility as webmaster and remove the anti-war propaganda from the EASA website and any part of this. For personal fights my mailbox is available. I do not have the intention to write any more sad public e-mails about this.

Description of events:
Marko has made an anti-war page which he uses as front page of the EASA site. After reminding Marko for at least 3 times about the political load of this page, he did neither react nor took any action. I therefore changed the redirect of the domain to the proper EASA starting page. Within a short time Marko changed this several times to make sure his anti war “splash screen” was the start site of our official EASA website. I made a temporary page redirecting to all the necessary pages and copied the EASA website to my personal server, without any changes or propaganda. While I was doing this I went out to have dinner, as I had a “dinner date”. Within one hour, directly after coming back, I finished the website and redirected the www.easa.tk site to the old version of the page, which is an exact copy of Marko’s site, although his personal “no war” opinions/additives are being left out.

As some of you might now me better you will understand I have never been avoiding any discussion with Marko, although Marko seems to try to do this himself towards me. I do not understand what makes it necessary for Marko to not reply to my mails but use the nc group and the weblog for this in which he accuses me of all kinds of things, while he abuses his control of the content of the website.

About the “no war” principle:
I find the “no war” statement inconsistent in the way there is no protest against terrorism, dictatorships, human rights violations, suppression of human beings, genocides, sexual abuse, (AIDS) epidemics, hunger. These are major problems, never noticed, never worried about, but with the intervention of US/UK/DK/etc coalition forces in a terrible situation in Iraq from over the whole world is being protested against war because people will die. From this point of view the accuse towards the US is shortsighted anti-intellectual and superficial.

I am aware of the interest in the EASA community concerning the idea to make the world a better place, and I applaud and embrace the intentions. I have the hope myself to contribute to this. Since some weeks the official Easa website has been transformed to a platform for anti-war propaganda, mainly as a reaction to the recent outbreak of the Second Gulf War. As you might have noticed I have not been complaining on this, although I doubt if this is the right place to discuss this question. I enjoy and respect the right to give personal opinions on things and I never tried to prevent this in any way, nor do I have the intentions do do so, as people who know me might know. In my opinion especially the (dis)similarities between different viewpoints help getting a grip on discussions. Even I find the discussion dominated by one single point of view which is hard to prove, I find it an interesting discussion. I must say for my self I am not able to take a stand before or against anything in this situation, since the question is very complex and the total of information necessary to make a valuable judgment is not easy to find. I therefore reject the statement “war is no solution” as much too superficial, as long as it is based on the idea that people die in the war. Looking from this point of view we should have been demonstrating against the allied forces in 1945 liberating us from the Nazi Regime.

I hope this illustrates my point.

Please, Marko I ask you: if you have any complaints, ideas, messages, comments, suggestions, reactions, than please react to the personal e-mails I have send to you or send me a personal mail, icq or msn message. I am in all your contact lists and for e-mail you can use the following e-mail address: makelovenowar@jelkkruk.com, do not spam the weblog with this crap.

Reaction on Marko:
Recent actions on the EASA website are an infringement of the main character of EASA, which seems to be inflicted by a minority of the EASA community (Marko Jell-Paradeiser, who is in control of the information provided on the website). This discussion primarily concerns Marko’s political no-war statement that replaced the original EASA frontpage www.jell-paradeiser.at. Seen the importance we as EASA community award to proper communication, I believe my actions to restore the original political neutral website are justified.

The main reason for my actions is NOT that the statements made might have a shortsighted, dogmatic, anti-intellectual or inconsistent character BUT is based on what is stated in article 1 of the EASA guide “Easa is not an established organization (1) but a non-political and non-profit network (2)…”. With implies that we can not (1) and will not (2) make official EASA opinions on political or other issues. Probably we are able to find a majority for some stand, but the EASA website is not maintained for this purpose, and should not be abused for this purpose. If any statement should be made about anything which does not regard EASA itself it should be resolved in the INCM or any other official meeting. In my opinion that also includes possible future “anti-dictatorship pages”, “weblogs against hunger”, statements against “bad weather” or protests against “bad hairdays”.

PS: The website www.easa.tk indeed shows the beautiful official website designed by Marko and friends, including a link to the weblog, excluding the frontpage with anti-war propaganda. The weblog contains the dynamic content (which can be changed by Marko) the static content is stored on a different server, which is not different to the situation before. As I have the responsibility to maintain the domain name www.easa.tk I see it as my duty to make sure it redirects to the right page and not to some spontaneous personal opinion on whatever from whomever. This was impossible since Marko changed the site several times to make his antiwar stuff to come up. I made a more stable copy of the site that would not change any hour and placed this on a server. And yes, however I find this of minor importance, the absurd “weblog against war” symbol, should in my opinion be removed too. How can you make an open platform for discussion if what is “right” is advocated by the platform itself? Anyway: I will be happy to redirect the domain to the original server of Marko’s father if the original political neutral site has been restored. If this will not be the case I will refrain from action until a “democratic decision” has been made concerning this topic on the next NC meeting. I am looking forward to a peaceful solution.

Hi everybody…
Just wanted to add a comment to the war between the websites….
The way you two guys humiliate yourselves is painfull for all of us especially EASA..
I would like to remember you all that there are a bunch of people working on the easa003-project. As I see it the easa003.dk site should be the official website it is the one that represents easa to the most new students around Europe for the time being. I went through the danish site to this forum which a lot of architecture students might do in the next 4-6 month. I find it rather unpleasant to enter a discussionforum for easa, that puts antiwar material on the frontpage. So please Jelk and Marko, sober up your websites, or we can democratically choose not to use either of them. I suggest that you both put down the official website war, and we can democratically take up the issue at the next NC-meeting. Until then please respect that you are representing an organisation and thereby me. I don’t want new students unfamiliar with the easa-organisation, to see this website as one of their first impressions.
This is a forum, we cannot avoid the real war as a topic, but do it in a respectfull manner.

hey guys!

we don’t only have war as a TOPIC on our site. now there is a REAL war in our forum, a nice possibility to watch how fast stuff like that can grow and explode. After the first explosion, the different parties try to gather as many people as possible behind their back. By propaganda and shouting around half-true stuff, as loud as possible. Isn’t it disconcerting that we are all the fucking same assholes???

Stop your written warfare. Find a solution on the phone, present two clear propositions for a new poll. Then wait for one week (decisions always take time in a democratic organisation). As long as there is no decision made by the “plenum”, the status quo from BEFORE the whole thing started (no statement) should be kept.

Jelk: As I’d personally like to have a statement there, I’m very interested in your exact reasons why you don’t want it (even more as there is so far an unrepresentative majority in the poll).
Marko: Even if I told you that I liked the statement when I was in Vienna: you can’t expect everyone to have the same opinion as you have in easa. next time, ask first.

Stop fighting. Stop your war.

i will react on a later time on the behaviour of marko. i see this as a serious issue and also will treat this likewise.

please use the adres www.easa.tk for the easa website, marko’s version is showing anti-war propaganda, an issue for which the site is not being maintained

as you can imagine i’m very disappointed about jelks undemocratic behave. he refuses discussion and sabotages the easa-network. probaply his interpretation of easa-spirit.
jelk wrote there is no discussion.
refusing a discussion is not my way to handle disagreements, but if you are not willing to listen to other peoples opinions it’s your choice jelk.

people who have the power will always use it… just another sad example.

It’s about two weeks day the coalition forces are going to take Baghdad… The iraqi people don’t like Saddam, this is fact… but is fact that iraqi people don’t want to be “free” by angloamerican forces… they must solve this problem alone…
Another fact… Saddam is Saddam becaurs ten years ago the same US give him power for war against IRAN…
