ciao darlings and greetings from the sunny beach of Grand Popo in Benin!!! am here on a study trip doing a research project on refugee camps and getting to know the local pivo only problem so far these damn french keyboards that are definately not made for finnish fingers *why do the french have to have it their way argh* and the sloooooowest internet connection
big line behind me just wanted to make all people that are freezing up north a bit jealous
in the shade its 33 degrees mmmmm
will be in paris next thrusday to sunday if anyone is around

hello everybody,

hopefully everybody recovered from new year, i spent mine in a real dutch “vinex”house, very interesting….

i got a question:

i am an editor for the magazine of my ark faculty, we have five issues a year, all based around a central theme… last year we had among others boredom, neighbours and shopping.

our next theme is holiday, with articles about architects holidays’, history of the caravan and airport design…

and also an article about easa.

i’m not lazy, but i think it would be fun to make it an article with impressions from people who attended an easa, and pieces of promotion from other countries in europe…

if anybody has something written down, or would like to write something down (we are talking about delft here ;-)) it would be “most” appreciated by me and my fellow editors, whom i had to convince it was not going to be an advertisment for easa (would cost me a lot of money…)

2006 : the year the world embraces eco cities.
there has been much architectural work done here in dublin in 2005 to green the city, to attempt to make it an eco city- this is still a major area for architects to think about and work toward, we hope to hear reports from the rest of the planet about whats going on. it looks like china is now creating a string of eco cities.
heres a little piece carrying on the conversation that was started on EASA back in November 2002, it includes ideas dreamt and ideas realised, and a few inbetween.

architecural thesis “catalyst @ botanic spine” successfully completed in june.

locally produced fruit and veg is a huge part of this project, we started dolphins barn community garden in april which has been a wonderful project to be part of.

this years main EASA theme is SUSTAINABILITY.

i believe trying to create networks that lead cities toward the ideal of ECO CITY, is the main process architecture and sustainability, green, ecological groups have to focus on,

i believe ECOTOPIA is probably the most progressive vehicle we can use to achieve this state.

we do not have the answers. but we have started to ask the right questions.
