Dear Arpad, Sandor, Judit, Eszter, Gabor, Zsofia, Balazs

Firstly, and most importantly A BIG THANKYOU for making EASA on a ship(s).

You made an unlikely event happen, one which is already becoming a part of EASA legend like EASA on a train, 1997.

Surely only few participants will have and will ever spend two weeks living on a ship in such a [common] space – BANG in the centre of a capital city!

First time participants are rightly inspired by their initial EASA experience (judging by the weblog) while those who attended last year; Bergun in Switzerland were faced with the challenge of inventively using a ships space (after having had only mountains to envelope us!).

I’d like to raise my view that these spatial restraints and the changing weather developed problems, rather than a lack of planning or ability to respond by the organising team. Illustrated by;

- The back of the ship which interestingly changed use from: quiet place > intimate space > sleeping space > gg space > chill out space > party space > workshop space!

- While the Info point suffering from rain moved into Szofia, non- 24hour space.

- and the lack of a large space to enable organisers to initially introduce themselves & then address everyone.

Generally speaking I think the theme of Common Space was experienced intensely in our daily lives while some workshops felt constrained in exploring the theme more fully.

The overall results were great, as seen in the workshops final presentation and the personal relationships made (maybe Dr Love can help with detail here?).

As Adam rightly states, organising EASA events can be a thankless task. Sometimes it seems to be human nature to point out problems / difficulties etc. rather than to congratulate those things which go smoothly.

I think no participant is ever fully aware of the problems & people overcome by the organising team when creating two weeks of 350 peoples lives…. until THEY CHOOSE TO HOST easa THEMSELVES!?!

I look forward to hearing future proposals in Moscow..

As those who know me will know, I could go on, but I’ll leave it there!

Do you know the museum du Quai Branly at Paris?the last building from the french architect Jean Nouvel?
let’s enjoy it, such a original museum next to the eiffel tower, front of the river, so nice!
severals differents building are put together, a green wall on the street counts 150 species of plants, 29 coloured boxes cantilevered, the lanscape all around…The new french attraction!

just totally drunk!!what a big surprise!
saturday night, he drank a bottle of whisky, alone (such a strong guy!) and his mind was over.
I had to take care about him (poor me!, i jsut was in the wrong place at the wrong time!)’cause he is my neighbor, so a fucking hard job!
he spoke english, as you know, all the way, kissed each cars in the street, pushed people (he told me “i don’t care if i want i can”i don’t know maybe he thought he was God!nobody knows…), danced with the trash cans (hummmm the next french show in Greece?), fell down, spoke to roadsigns, etc…it was really a big crazy adventure!!!!ah clement, we love you but pleaaaaase STOP DRINKING WHISKY!
And the last but not least, he told me that i was worse than him Sorry?!?can you believe it? oh pleasa just shuuuuut up your face crapy clement!
don’t worry, he’s survived with a bigbigbig hangover!!

This is an overdue thank you to ALL the organisers.

There has been much said of the problems that arose while during the two weeks, and rightly so because we all want things to be as perfect as possible. But i don’t want to dwell on these things here. Many people took time out to say personal ‘thank you’s to the organisers, but i thought it would be nice to put a thread on here to have some thing a bit more tangible and permanent.

My thoughts are these, I remember two things about the organisers, first, very very nervous and tense people in orange waiting for the next thing to go wrong or the next complaint to come their way. But also people who, when you talked to them about, I don’t know, the weather, were friendly and would bend over backwards to provide whatever help (or mothering) you needed.

This was my first easa, as it was for many other people, and I have no comparisons I can make, but what I do know is these were the best two weeks of my life, and a large part of that was the efforts put in by the organisers.

I also know plenty of them were still working hard in the weeks that most of us have been just trying to integrate back in to wider society. Thank you thank you thank you.

Greece, you have a lot to live up to. And I cant wait to get there :)

Hello my most lovely and beautifull people, Georgian team has just arrived back home and it’s 40 degrees down here, hot hot hot like in africa.
Oh i miss our boats so much, and do u know people there’s gonna be a theatre on it one day.

after complete relaxation of all the croatian team on the beaches of the island of vis, coming back to civilazation and internet zone and seeing all this on the blog,….ahhhhh,…..nostalgia..
it was never this vivid before..
being the dinasours (me and ana), and experiencing fifth easa we can only say…woooohoooo,.. it was great…inspite all the organisation problems (we are preparing for the BIG nc meeting in moscow) parties seemed to be the only thing that was completly succesfull, and more than that…
we missed the last party, so please inform us that it was boring and short :) ….
and big hug too all that we forgot to say bye bye..we were pretty drunk and sad…
as the cro team is scattered along the coast now, we will collect the pictures and flickr them when getting all back in zagreb..soooon…
venice issue- we are definetly into it, just after september cause exams exams exams…
and we are not only easa addicted, but having nightmares of the kassa on fire..:)
