Just to add my 2 pence to the whole nye-hysteria among easa-party-people (what is the difference to any other weekend, apart from waking up in the next year?)…
Everybody seems to be going somewhere except me, who can’t afford all the plans of going boarding in switzerland and having a calm and quiet nye.
That means i’m in Berlin.
And if someone who is not travelling to either copenhagen, stateside or any other place, but finds himself waking up in Berlin, needs some party guidance or just wants to join one of the parties where I hang out and spin some tunes feel free to contact me.

Here’s something to chear you all up here in the dark and warm winter!!!
Like a month ago we had the MTV music awards here in Cph. And the streets where filled with snoop doggs and Justin Timberlakes, all followed by crazy teen fans.
However the biggest stars are sometimes not seen…
My good friend Christian who was with us in Bergun, but did not come to Budapest, recognized the Justice vs. Simian crew in the streets and went over and talked to them. They actually won the award for best music video, but none recognized them on the streets. He told them about our anthem in Budapest, and they where amazed, and so they gave him this signature!!!
This is the guy who was mass-dissed by us all – some might not remember it since it happened on national evening – but those who remember, should maybe give him their appologies for being so mean to him…

Ok, the winners of the prestigious Presidents Medal have just been announced. You can find them at:

This is the UK award for outstanding students, I would love to see links for any similar websites from other countries.
For those new to the presidents medal, (the description is on the web site, and does the whole thing more justice then I ever could) the basic thing is the top two students projects from 3rd year (Part 1) and 6th year (Part 2) from each school in the UK are eligible to be put forward for the various awards (Sergent drawing award, over all winner etc.). There are also awards for the best dissertation (this applies to Part 2 only).
Now whatever you think of the kind of projects that all ways seem to win the award, you have to admit that a quick look round the quality of the stuff of this site really makes you want to put a bit more effort in to the way your studies are going. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the winners are announced in the long winter months!

im writing to you from a very special place in a very special time; new MAKABRA @ Can Ricart, Pueble Nou, Barcelona
after a profoundly creative, artistic, political, architectural act has combined to create a point in time which i believe has sparked the beginnings of a truly participative architecture to emerge and a space has been (illegaly) created to facilitate the dialogue and space for that dialogue to lead to an actual built reality. In fact that reality is being constructed and built as i write to you.
Makabra ( www.lamakabra.org ) have just produced a little bit of magic, entering and occupying the old Can Ricart factory ( www.salvemcanricart.org )in the Pouble Nou Barrio of Barcelona, where 70 years ago the CNT trucks left from to attempt to build a better world ( struggle.ws ). Now its Makabra´s turn to add to the unfolding story of creativity, passion and the love of life. In Barcelonas newspapers this has been front page news since Saturday.
Their struggle also has has the support of the UN commisioner for housing, Miloon Kothari, who said “I think your struggle is just, what your doing is correct, I´d just request you to be peaceful…. and keep performing.” ( barcelona.indymedia.org )

Weaving together many strands of life here in Barcelona (community, squat, circus, political, media, humour, history, story telling) they now have a lovley new home and complete support from the ever helpful neighbours. Onboard the (French) pirate ship METAVILLA (whats being pointed at in Venice this year? – easa.antville.org ) to witnessing first hand, listening to and archiving Lucien Kroll: Moments D`Architectures (http://easa.antville.org/stories/1488710/ ) , which talked about the base of architectureand ecology (the relationship between things), to a healthier “participative bottom up” approach to architecture, planning, society instead of the present which, it was argued, leads to cities burning as we saw in Paris earlier this year in the riots, when communities, people and place are bypassed for profit.
