Hello to all Easa people,

As you saw before, Easa Archive is still alive and we’re continuing with working and archiving as it was arranged on Incm Moscow. But we need your contribution.
You know that one of our main goals is to gather all material from last Easa-s so it can be at one place and also available on Easa web page (that we’re planning to make and design this year in Greece as a part of Archive Workshop). So, we ask you to collect all material connected with Easa-s in past that you can find and to give it to your NC.
Your contribution is really helpful because it will be use as a part of Archive Workshop in Greece where we will make an index of archive material from Easa 1981 till now.

Please try to do that as soon as possible

Here’s another call for help from the EASA knowledge pool.

I’ve finally started working on my diploma. And, as for any project, I am looking for precedents.

The site is about 3 ha, located at a railroad junction, in an old industrial area (ex paper and metal recycling plant which is now moving to the outer city).

The programme is supposed to be socially active – startup apartmets with delayed rent payment, business incubator offices with seed capital and things like that.

So, I am looking for projects that:

1. are located at or close to a railroad, and are ex-industrial areas

2. are socially residential or mixed-residential

Also I am looking for any examples of startup apartments and social housing (social not in square metres size, but in concept).

Any and all help greatly appreciated!

Part one.

Archinet, now there’s a waste of a couple of hours. And because it’s educational (sometimes only in the broadest sense) it neither; feels like a real break, nor is it particularly productive. Any hoo, today my rss has flagged up two stories whose headlines sent me back thinking about the workshop I took part in, in Budapest.

Part two.

I’d like to make a plea on behalf of my final University project… I really need good quality photos of both the finished box in location, and photos of the group working in our dynamic way.

I would also really appreciate any good pictures of Tuzracter (please forgive the spelling) or any of the other student type places that were reused old industrial buildings. Because being a student I have done something very similar and nothing mainstream really fits as good description and I am too poor to even fly back to BCN to take the final pictures of the site I am working on let alone Budapest… starting to ramble, so will stop now.

After all this architecture reading I deserve a break, so it’s time for a cup of tea and a penguin biscuit.

I’m going to Barcelona with a group of designschool archischool students 11-16th March an I’m looking for some tips concerning places to go, people to see.
I know about most of the sights, been there did that etc. but I want to find some of the hidden jewels of Barcelona. Cool design and architectcompanies that we could visit, a local guide with immense knowledge of architecture and design. Any ideas? P-p-please contact me,

Still pining for an exhibition in MAnchester before June. It’s looking like my tutor might be able to cover the costs of printing the posters from the Swiss web-site. Does anyone (Inara?)have a digital copy of the posters which got made for the Moscow INCM exhibition which they could post/ftp/get to me? I would be over the moon if they did! Also if there’s anything other than the swiss & Mosocw posters which is easliy available in digital format, would I be able to get hold of it? I’m fed up of explaining EASA to people here and getting a response which involves a wink and an “Ahh..!…I see…(not)” type comment, so I have a huge urge to show the UK, what I’m really on about.

ok, i have one important thing to discuss with all of you! and it would really be supernice if the answer in the end would be YES :)!
concerning the INCM007 Croatia…
well, i know it stands written in the EASAguide “the INCM is held every year in November” and it has been like that in last few years, but if we could ignore that little sentence just this one time and do it in october 2007. :) can we?
the situation is:

1. october would be much better because november is in the middle of semester and students eager to help would be much more busier as well as the teachers wiling to give a lecture or tutor possible workshop.
for all those not informed Motovun, the little town where we plan to host Incm, is around 300 km far from Zagreb, so we are in completly another part of the country. so all the organizing team will have to be there for all 7days, we want have the oportunity of some people being there to help for just an hour or two, or dropping by every other day, like it was in moscow, ljubljana, belgrade and even brighton… so having it before helps us having much more people, and teachers willing to help or participate.

2. the facilities that we will be using are not heated so the professor from our uni who is in charge of it says we could have heating problem (although it could be solved, but would need much more money and sponsors) and is pressing us to make it before if possible…

3. and one more thing: ana and me, 2 out of 3 main organizers, are gonna be doing our diploma then, and concerning our deadline, which is the middle of december, we would really have to have clear november for doing it and having INCM in october would be so much less stress. if it was held in zagreb we could have more helpers and making us less responsible, havin much more free time, but as mentioned before its in Motovun.


i really hope you see the problems and i hope this want be the issue, and you will understand our need to move the dates of incm, and have it from 15.10-21.10. 2007 or 22.10. – 28.10. 2007.
For us the first dates are better but i wanna know your reaction and does it make any difference except beeing “against” the guide.
i appologize for not discussing all this in Moscow, but as you all know, we decided to have the INCM in last second, and we werent aware of all these problems.

anyway, we are really totally involved in preparation for it, having lots of good ideas to make it A GOOD and productive INCM with posible workshop.
the exhibition of Moscow+easa005 posters is after budapest and belgrade coming to cro on 24th of february and thats when we will present easa007 competition for participants and INCM007 croatia,.,
hopefully for october..

please, i wanna hear your reacitons, and hopefully get a a concenssus on it..

First subject:
During the INCM in Moscow, there was info gathered on the following points:

_number of Architecture Schools
_total number of each country’s students

The following countries were either absent or did not gather this information
_Austria
_Armenia
_France
_Georgia
_Liechtenstein
_Poland
_Austria

We kindly ask you people from the above mentioned countries to fill in the gap in order to complete our quota list!!

Second subject:
There is no data on our last NClist from the following countries:
_Albania
_Azerbaidjan
_Chech Republic
_Estonia
_Iceland
_Kosovo
_Luxemburg
_Malta
_Montenegro

Please contact us giving us also the info requested on the first subject..

Various environmental organizations are asking the peoples of this planet to hold 5 minutes of silence: Everyone should turn off all lights, electricity etc. between 7:45 until 8 p.m. to bring attention to other inhabitants, the media and politicians about the daily waste of energy.
