uuu can’t wait for this summer mess to begin again!:)in the meantime as we dream I thought you might help with one thing here…could anyone advise me what are the cheapest and quickest ways to get to Germany (Leipzig or Berlin or at least somewhere near) from where easa is going to reside this year? What are the cheapest airlines operating on this routes? or anyone would be thinking to go that direction towards the end of easa?

As you probably know, there’s a project of EASA online archive going on. We need you to contribute with the information about the archive material you might have. We have sent the excel file to the NCs to fill in with the basic info about the material. So far we haven’t recieved many replies. But we hope you’ll reply :) Soon.
And all of you who would like to help us and haven’t recieved that file yet or don’t know anything about the project, write us at easa (dot) archive (at) gmail (dot) com. We are very interested in all the material you have (final reports, pictures, umbrella issues, workshop materials, films…) especially of the events prior to 2002.
So, don’t be shy! We are waiting!

Impex – Contemporary Art Provider announces a call for participation in
the Inbetween Zone workshop.
Challenged by the ongoing rapid and substantial transformation of urban environment, IMPEX aims to
act as a platform for the critical analysis of urban development, social discourse and collaboration
in art and cultural practices.
Therefore, with its own location as a starting point, and at the same time encompassing a wider
general discourse on the role of cultural potentials in urban development, IMPEX initiates a
long-term interdisciplinary research project. This long-term project will include workshops,
exhibitions, public interventions, publications and other alternative methods of collecting,
generating and organizing ideas and knowledge.
The first stage of the project is the workshop entitled Inbetween Zone, which will take place from
16 to 23 June 2007, simultaneously with the 7th Biennial of European Towns and Town Planners.

The ‘Corvin Promenade’ project covers an area larger than 80,700 m2 in a zone of the VIII. district
adjacent to the downtown (http://www.corvinsetany.hu), presently undergoing complete urban and
architectural reconstruction. Meanwhile, development projects of a different scale, but similar
impact as regards urban restructuring, are under way in two neighboring districts (VII, IX). This
continuous zone, reaching over districts, will be the ground of the workshop.
Themes of the Workshop are:
1. Public art and urban planning
2. Techniques of collective and individual intervention: how inhabitants can use and form their own
living-space
3. Grassroots: creative, grassroots initiations vs. urban planning
4. Limits to planning: limitations of urban planning projects
5. Mistake assessment: analysis and planning of errors in city development projects.
6. Urban policy and identity formation: urban legends – local heroes
Workshop structure:
Throughout a one-week workshop 30 selected participants will work out the above listed topics in 5
different groups (approx. 6 people/group), with the guidance of tutors. Methods and approaches will
be developed collectively within the group. The results of the workshop will be introduced in the
form of an exhibition and a public presentation in Impex.
The official language of the workshop is English.
What do we provide?
Maximum 100 EUR traveling cost for the participants, accommodation and production costs of the
workshop.
Participation in the workshop is free of charge.
Whom do we expect?
Hungarian and foreign applicants who are engaged in the fields of culture, commerce, media or social
sciences (artists, architects, sociologists, urbanists, cultural managers, philosophers, filmmakers,
anthropologists, designers, economists, managers, communication experts, etc.).
The application has to include:
CV and attached documentation of relevant professional practices in English or Hungarian. We accept

IMPEX – Contemporary Art Provider is a new art scene in the 8th district of Budapest. The venue,
which consists of a gallery, a workshop room and an office, presents experimentally minded and
progressive artwork. It also accommodates studio practices, lectures and creative, interdisciplinary
initiatives. Its objective is to aid cooperation and permeability between different areas of art,
and, through its open and receptive structure, create a living connection with various social groups
and civilian initiatives.
Due to a mutually beneficial cooperation between a bar (club) and a non-profit cultural institution,
IMPEX is presently found in the building of West Balkan (http://www.west-balkan.com). – one of the
last, temporarily standing houses in a large territory going through complete architectural and
urban metamorphosis.

First of all I’d like to gratulate you for the good organizing you do!!! Second of all I have some questions..
The easa guide BETA that Jurrien sent out says that
”The organisers should specify a clear guest policy concerning entrance to the assembly and length of stay, depending upon available space and security issues. This guest policy should be relased together with applications.” [p. 15]
I know it’s just Beta work.. but still, have you made any thoughts about guests: how many, how long, how much [$]…
Last thing [this might be a stupid question but hey, this is my first time as nc], the guide says on p. 10:
”Countries apply for their places according to two deadlines: Before the first deadline a country can apply for the maximum number of places their quota allows. After the first deadline the leftover places are counted and placed in five pools, one for each payment group. Before the second deadline, any country can apply for the leftover places from their own payment group.”
Did I miss that deadline[s]? If so I’d certainly like to apply for all participants from denmark!!!

do not apply for visas yet,nobody!
we will not send any invitations for visas to you yet.
we managed to get ALL VISAS FOR FREE
this is the procedure:
till the end of May [after having redistributed possible extra places and decided excact participants],we will give to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs a list with the excact participants that will attend the easa007.
The Ministry will send to all embasades a list of participants.
When this happens,we [easa007] will send to NCs, of countries that need visa to travel,a form with:
”””complete names,nationalities,passport number and current stay country”””
with this form,each NC will go to his country’s greek embassade and give them this form.they will ascertain that these are the names that Greek Ministry has sent them and give you the visas for free!
so please do not forget,NCs that need visas to include this information!!!!

About the ARCHIVE subject…
there had been a lot of talk in Moscow about having the archive workshop in Greece, but till now we have received nothing concerning it.
If you really intend to realise it ,we must receive a workshop registration,with tutors and everything the way it works with workshops.
Places for archivers will be given in case we have the actual workshop procedure.

Hey EASA,
Me and my friend Moa (she was a participant in Budapest) are going to travel by train through Europe for 3 weeks in May, starting from the 7th. The journey is part of a project that we call “Loving architecture”, which hopefully will turn into a book. Our stops for now are: Berlin, Belgrade, Barcelona, Paris and probably Delft. It’s really a budget-trip and we’re gonna sleep at nice EASA -peoples houses so far. We’re looking for some possible stops on the road between these cities. (Poland, Austria, Czech Republ. Croatia, Italy?…) And now we wanted to use this forum to ask if there is anybody who’s got some amazing things that we shouldn’t miss out on or a really big apartment and can host us for a night? (We won’t take much space, I promise you we’re so small that you can barely see us!) And we can guarantee you that you’ll have comfy bed if you ever pass by the south of Sweden (or Barcelona, since I’m moving there in September…)
