The search for the most average easaian!



Through a series of experiments with the easa population, we will try and create a people_index, bringing the city index theme of easa007 to life.


By surveying the population of easa, and gathering statistics and information we will find who is the most average easaian out there! Will it be a 22.5 year old girl from central Europe, 1.65 m high, travelled 2000km to elefsina? We need questions to ask everybody so we can create the most average easian with the statistics and then go and find the best match and crown them ‘the most average easa participant’! ! If you have any questions that you want to be included on the survey then please post them here on the blog.

The survey will be conducted online and it would be great if everybody here at easa can contribute so we can come up with some interesting facts and figures for people_index.

I’m adding some new pics to flicker. Before easa starts. This week I finally put films out of my fridge and here is Cph NY. Specially for people who were there.
My favorite are ´in the kitchen` and ´pernille and the fish´.
Well, maybe the only one that are good. I don’t care. There was a lot of champagne, and not the Torley one … :)

19.-26.10. @ Motovun + 27.28.29. @ Zagreb

its official:
INCM is from 19th till 26th of October 2007 in Motovun, than we’ll have optional 2-3 days in Zagreb like ST.Petersburg after moscow was..
i recommend it cause we’re gonna attend some good european archi lectures (the names aren’t confirmed yet) plus exhibition opening (European schools of Arch vol.2)

we had meeting with mayor in Motovun yesterday, and it all looks cooooooool… presentation coming in elEfsina!!
expect it… :)

Hey there, i´ve found out about this new masterprogramm called `SPACE´ and I think it´s pretty innovative and sounds really interesting. It´s at the Zollverein School in Essen, Germany and is meant to be a 16 months post-professional programm in architectural design. It´s a brand new course of studies which will start in october 2007.

I came across it while searching for a master course that does not stick with the classical centre of architectural or design training and this one actually seems to suit my vision. The course is said to focus on the fringes and the `space´ architecture, politics, culture and society. In my opinion that is exactly what most of the other courses are missing.

The list of lecturers is amazing, it includes, among other: Ben Van Berkel (UN Studio), Kazuyo Sejima + Ryue Nishizawa (SANAA), Reinier de Graaf (AMO/OMA), Anne Lacaton + Jean Philippe Vassal (Lacaton+Vassal), Patrick Schumacher (Zaha Hadid Architects), Duncan Lewis (Scape), Momoyo Kaijima + Yoshiharu Tsukamoto (Atelier Bow Wow), Bjarke Ingels (BIG, former Plot), and many more.

Not less spectacular than the team of lecturers is the Zollverein School itself. The imposing new building is the first design by Japanese architects Kazuyo Seijima and Ryue Nishizawa (SANAA) to be built in Europe.
I´ve been there for it´s opening and was so impressed.

Now that probably most of you got your tickets in hand,here is some necessary info about getting to easa007_site.

The suburban railway [Athens-Korinthos] itineraries page on the website is kinda mixed up, due to extension constructions of the line.

So here goes gathered info about reaching Elefsina by any possible way:

_Airport-Elefsina
Suburban railway from Airport [first one: 06.00],direction “Athens” to “Neratziotissa” station and from there change line,direction “Korinthos” to “Magoula” station. This correspondence is every hour.
Last train at 23.00 from airport.Ask when you’re about to pick the suburban,there is always possibility of time changes.
Outside the “Magoula” station leaves the bus no863.
Get off at bus station “2nd Efefsina station” in front of the easa site.

_Athens[centre]-Elefsina:
Buses leave every half hour, from 06.00 – 23.00 [the first and last one].They leave in front of the train-metro station at “Thisio”,in the centre.
The buses are called “KTEL Dytikis Attikis”, which means “West Attica suburban buses”, they are orange, and the label on the bus [direction] will
say either “Vilia” or “Megara”.
Get off at bus station “2nd Efefsina station” in front of the easa site.

_Athens[Larissis railway station]
Suburban railway to “Magoula” station
Outside the “Magoula” station leaves the bus no863.
Get off at bus station “2nd Efefsina station” in front of the easa site.

ADDRESS: IERAS ODOU & AFON MOURIKI, ELEFSINA [building:”Palaia Eleourgiki, next to building “Skopeutikos Syllogos”]

check site for things to bring with etc.

Dear EASA friends
I’m just finish my study, graduating last week in architecture!!!
So I’m organizing a bonfire in roman beach to celebrate with all my friend my diploma! The fire will be add fuel by our old model and drawing, now useless and full of dust!
I want invite every easa friend who wants to come! this also because I want express one’s special thanks to you because just with your support I’m grown up on our profession and my person ;)

Another question:
with the italian partecipants we are organizing to come in greece by boat, starting in a minivan from north italy and taking the boat in Bari, south, and arrive in Patrasso harbour..
If anybody will do the same trip, will be cool drive togheter, or plan the post-easa holiday in greece :)
