What I’ve heard from the recent easa-meeting it seems as if things are pretty orgainzed these days – nearly everything was done by the croatian team, as e.g. the bar (strictly 7pm-2am, always with the same barkeepers), or not making it possible for anyone to play ‘their’ music at the large stage (with the effect that the spanish people had their own party somewhere else, as many others as well). Also I’ve heard of the troubles of a NC that tried to visit the base for a couple of days, not being let inside…
I wonder if these aren’t all signs of over-organization and remember easa has been pretty open earlier, letting people do what they want to do, without such strict rules. Don’t we architects learn to plan, organize and manage projects, isnt it most important for a community-concept as easa to offer a playground for such ideas?
As I did not have the chance to take part at Vis, this feeling is based on not more than personal reports – but I’d be interested in your idea of the easa-spirit, and your wishlist for the next gathering. Probably the responsible one’s out there might take notice.
