In 2003 we will focus on the GLOBAL, planet earth and beyond, our home
I say again to you, check when the W.T.O meeting are happening, I think its in paris in 2003. EASA finishing around 3 days after the event would be a good time.
I am planning a workshop from next years base to copenhagen for a solidarity protest and city carnival when the talks are on
I have been researching the social, economic, political mechanisms which are destroying this planet, our only home for the time being.
Many people are challenging the world bank, W.TO. and I.M.F.
An economic war has been on since the 1970`s. every year @ 7,000,000- 7 million people die, worldwide environmental destruction, poverty, hunger etc all exist due to unjust social, economic, political mechanisms.
We are fighting back, nov 30th 1999 thousands protested and prevented the W.T.O. meeting from happening. More and more people are finding out about whats going on
Individuals are educating themselves, organizing, and taking direct action
Networks are being used and the battles are non violent largely peaceful protests. We aim to increase awareness and educate, and then to organize to peacefully fight the unjust system
These are short-term urban events.
I was at ecotopia this year www.ecotopia2002.org it is the main euro tool for change re sustainability. Next year it is in ukraine, unlimited numbers can participate in the 2 week workshop sust living event. I would encourage all of you and all EASA people to come to the ukraine if you can. If you cant, communicate virtually with them and help bring about a more sustainable world
